The CX-5 2.5 S features Mazda’s Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter, four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with cylinder deactivation. This efficient powertrain can deliver up to 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque with any fuel grade and is paired with a quick-shifting six-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and sport mode.
By adjusting torque, G-Vectoring Control (GVC) optimizes the grip on the tires at any given point, whether turning or driving down a straight road. By adjusting the amount of weight on front tires, Mazda is able to offer better steering feel and enhanced performance that feels completely natural.

That happens because the car’s weight shifts forward onto the front tires when you’re off the throttle. G-Vectoring Control reduces the engine’s power output a little bit as you turn the wheel.
